On the fringe of an event

Standing in front of her late husband Larry G. Lajoie's grave, Deborah Lajoie kissed her hand and raised it to the sky while Taps played at the Veterans Day ceremony at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on Friday, November 11, 2011. "It never gets easier, it just gets different not having him in my life," she said. The two began dating as freshmen at Chelmsford High School in Massachusetts. Larry served in the Navy during Vietnam and passed away on November 18, 2005, one day before his sixtieth birthday, a celebration Deborah had been planning. Having lived in Derry, Deborah moved to Goffstown to be closer to the cemetery and regularly visits, often bringing a blanket.
