Feature hunt

After an assignment in Bradford, NH I decided to drive around and find a feature. Features can be perceived in different ways by different people. Some choose to see it as a waste of their time, nothing but a space filler. With that attitude, that's typically what it is. Nothing more. But features are also an opportunity to meet people and share your community with people that don't get out as much. People that don't have the privilege to get lost on back roads during the day and stop whenever something catches their eye. I think feature hunts are an important part of a small daily. But they shouldn't be a crutch.

Hi! Just stopped by here and wanted to say that I completely agree with you on having the right attitude during a feature hunt. It's one of the big things I miss about working at a daily newspaper. I always enjoyed driving around, stopping when I saw something fascinating (or something that had potential to be fascinating) and meeting people in the community.

This is great, man. I need to work on this attitude. I need to work on stopping.
