A feature kinda day

Got to drive around today and look for features. Hung out with Megan Frankel and her parent's dog, Rosco, for a little before getting sent to photograph Armand and Claudette Verville in Allenstown preparing an old meeting house to be used in a town meeting tonight, the first time a meeting has been held while the building is owned by the town since November of 1876.



Armand Verville, of Allenstown, and a member of the steering committee for the Old Allenstown Meeting House, opens the windows to the house on Monday afternoon, July 26, 2010 while preparing the building for the evening's board of selectman meeting. It is the first time the meeting house is being used as a place for a community or official town meeting while owned by the town since November of 1876, Verville said.



Megan Frankel gets a lick on her left cheek by Rosco, her parent's dog, while studying outside her Penacook home for a state test to become a registered nurse. Home from Elmira College for the summer and entering her senior year in the fall, Frankel said she became interested in nursing after her father's back surgery several years ago. The family had a nurse come to help with the infection periodically and taught her and her mother how to change sutures and treat the infection when she was not around. "It's one of those cool but disgusting things," she said. With eyes initially set on teaching, the experience intrigued her to change her focus and study to become a nurse at school, she said. Frankel said she will apply to take the test at the end of her senior year and hopes to take it sometime next summer.
