Flocking Together

Members of the 4-H group and other fair goers gather around Paul Wisneski and his daughter Katie Wisneski, 13, as they give a turkey a bath in preparation for fowl judging that will take place the following morning. Kaylene Wilsey, 13, far right, joined in shortly after along with Jessica, 17, and Kaitlyn Klein, 14. "First time I ever washed a turkey," Paul joked. "It just ain't something you pick up, go out and give them a bath." He said it was probably one of the most memorable parts of the project. "I like to just kind of be a leader of the group," Katie later said as to why she jumped in to help right away.

Today, Ryan and I spent much of the morning and part of the afternoon laying out the 13 photos we edited for the 4-H turkey story that will run on Sunday. I'm excited to see the print product, as it will span the front page, jump to an inside page, then jump to a true doubletruck...all thanks to Ryan.

I'll be posting a little multimedia piece on Sunday as well and will also post a link. For more photos from the project check out:
