Coming Home

Nearly a month ago, I was at the airport with a welcoming party of area POWs and motorcycle organizations as the local 1460th National Guard Transportation Company arrived home from being deployed in Iraq for one year. Today, many of the same motorcyclists were at the airport, but this time it was for Staff Sgt. Timothy A. David who was killed on June 28 while serving in Iraq. The Michigan Army National Guard Honor Guard carried the casket of Staff Sgt. Timothy A. David, 28, of Beaverton, from the MBS International Airport Monday morning to be transported by procession to Beaverton. He was in the U.S. Army with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, based in Fort Hood, Texas.
