Korey Kennedy calls one of several dogs she cares for at her Porter Township home Friday evening for dinner while Blue eats on her deck. Kennedy has been a foster parent for dogs for about the past ten years and recently acquired Blue, a Husky that was badly injured in a fire the killed his owner in April. After the fire, which left Blue severely burned, he was kept at the Humane Society until about 3-4 weeks ago when Kennedy picked him up and will be caring for him until he is restored back to health. Althought Blue has adapted with the rest of the dogs, he still remains territorial about his food and has to eat separate from the other dogs.
