I got a call that Andrew was going to do his first solo flight in about an hour Saturday afternoon, so I headed to the airport. His dad is a pilot and manager of aircraft and Andrew has been flying his whole life. At 16, Andrew still doesn't have his drivers license. during a pre solo flight check with his dad. After his successful first solo flight
haha, nice. His dad was in the plane when I went up because he wanted to go over a few last minute run-threws before turning Andrew loose. When I heard about the assignment, I asked the intern Amanda if she wanted to shoot the flight or the gymnastics. When I mentioned it would probably be essential to get in the plane, she chose gymnastics. I was hoping she chose flying. So, off I went. Luckily the kid had been around planes his whole life and knew more than probably some paid pilots. Oh well, it was pretty fun.
