We're working on a story about a local *cough* mountain *cough* for a business section the newspaper is putting out next week. It is actually a pretty cool place for what it is, a 200 foot hill in mid-Michigan. But no complaints!! Friendly people, cool vibe, cool staff of ski patrol and only 20 minutes away.
Hey everyone, thanks a lot for checking this out. It was a little frustrating at first trying to get gear out of a backpack, chase people down for names, and then recognizing people later on all bundled up...so, I decided to take a chill pill and just have fun...getting names of course!
I went out today and round 2 will be up shortly, no slide show, just a page or 2 for one of three business tabs called "Progress" we've been doing the last 3 weeks.
Steve, I assume the stars you're talking about are in photo 1? They are actually just lights on the mountain...i mean hill.
For the majority of the other photos I dialed my flash down to 1/64 and zoomed it in to 85mm. The shutter speed varied between 125th and 250th of a second and I bounced between f8 and f10 with direct flash action jackson.
I was referring to frames 2 thru 5. Originally I thought you had done a crazy long exposure and manually flashed when someone came through the frame, but now I think those "stars" might be flecks of snow? I'm overthinking this.

For some reason I keep thinking of the Blair Witch Project. Interesting way to approach this assignment. Will you be doing a slideshow on this?
interesting subject to shoot at night...
Those stars are sweet. Manually triggered flash on a long exposure?

Damn, that sounded nerdy. Haha.
Thanks again.
