School Bus Leaks Diesel Fuel into Roadway

Homer Township Fire Department Chief, John Hanson, makes a call while waiting for the Midland County Road Commission to arrive and disperse sand over a pool of diesel fuel on westbound M-20 Thursday evening. No one was injured when a bus carrying Bay City Central students to a basketball game in Mount Pleasant stopped on the side of the road after hearing something break, according to the Midland County Sheriff's deputies. A piece from the bottom of the bus struck a van, also heading westbound, and diesel began to leak from the bus. Both lanes on M-20 westbound were closed for little over an hour during the incident and traffic was diverted to Sandow Road.
