Abandoned Homes

Chris Henry stands on the steps at one of the closed homes where he and his wife have witnessed break-ins. Renting a home in the neighborhood of Berea Woods Drive in Stafford, Va., Chris and his wife Brenda have concerns for their safety due to several homes that have been boarded up by the county in preparation for the construction of the Rocky Pen Reservoir. Outsiders are coming into the neighborhood stealing things like copper piping, leaving beer cans throughout houses, and possibly squatting.

I wish I weren't heading back to school because this sounds like something interesting to investigate and work on until the area is flooded. Chris and Brenda may be able to keep their home, the decision has been going back and forth in the courts. There are about 8-12 houses in the area abandoned.

2 A.M. TV

So I come back from school where I have 3 channels because I don't want to pay for cable. All the channels are pretty much terrible and I'm not much of a TV person anyways. I did this the other night after arriving home. I guess it's weird, but so is TV and all the crap we zone out to while being lazy on the couch.

Pettigrew, a veteran of the Army Airborne Infantry who now sells cars at the Rosner Toyota dealership in Stafford, Va. Kinard received a car through the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund based in Quanitco, Va. on Monday after losing his legs to a roadside bomb during his first tour in Iraq last October. Shot by a sniper, also in October, Pettigrew left the Army in June after being deployed once in Afghanistan and twice in Iraq.

Call me the over-poster

Was cruising home when a friend and I came up on this scene. A 'suspicious package' was left inside the Islamic Center of Central Missouri around 2:15 pm on Thursday afternoon. Police detained a suspect a little while later and destoryed the package outside the center with the bomb squad's robot. I'm posting a few pics, but didn't shoot a lot, just hung around with some friends and watched the craziness. Police closed down a 3 block perimeter but we managed to get on a parking garage nearby for a better view.

YOU MUST WATCH THIS VIDEO!

Harlan Ellison's talks about a business experience. I heard about it on APAD and it is extremely important and relevant to the world of photography.

Lucky

John "Lucky" McClellan has toured twice in Afghanistan and once in Iraq. After graduating high school in 2004, he enlisted in the Marine Corps because he didn't want to go to college yet and chose to be infantry so he could "be in the stuff." Now 21 years old, he has been shot 3 times. It's been a year since he was last shot by a sniper in the head while deployed in Iraq. He is unable to drive for another three months because of a seizure and Missouri state law so he hangs out at home with his dog "Lucky," friends who visit, and plays video games to pass time. Mentally strong, he has made a remarkable recovery with the help of his family, friends and dog.

I Just started and not sure what will come, but just thought I'd share a little about Lucky.

Bball

Shot a basketball game tonight just messing around.

The concept is there, but I need to work on the execution but just wanted to throw these up for the hell of it.

Halloween

I never remember Halloween being this crazy here at school. After heading to a bar with friends, my buddy Parker and I couldn't pass up the idea to run around with some jimmy-rigged flash set-ups and shoot the coolness.
