And the Wheels Keep on Chuggin Along
Had an interview with a photographer from U.S. News and World Report today, he's promoting his new book and also "interviewing" students for the summer internship. It went well for probably the first, hmmmm, 10 seconds...that is, until he found out I was an undergrad. It went something like this "You're an undergrad?" 'Yeah, I graduate in May.' "Oh, well, this is an internship mainly for grad students." and a *sigh.* He was a really cool dude and knows his stuff, but this just killed me. I don't know anything about promoting myself so was kind of at a loss for words. Anyways, I need a job. Or just live in my parent's basement. Or just bust my ass and hope for the best...yeah, probably that one. Wow, how corny did that come across? It's 2 in the morning and I need a camel.

Feedback
Well, I haven't got much feedback on my website, so I'm keeping the design because I like it. Now I have one more favor to ask. I added singles under the >Life< section of my website but am terrible...I MEAN TERRIBLE editor of my own work. Is there a single that is weak that I should get rid of? Anything you may have seen in the past that you'd like to see there now? Thanks for the help, I really apprecitate it.

HTML WEBSITE!! NEW...but not finished
I've heard back from a few people and the most common things were the pop-up windows were annoying and the site shouldn't be deisgned in Flash. Personally I think Flash is pretty cool and have seen some cool sites who have used Flash, but I guess I don't know enough about the program to make mine join the cool Flash design-o-rama botta bing club. So I re-did everything in htmizzle (html). Check it out. Still need to add sports, singles, and a personal seciton for random images I called "Tullyvision" should the name go? Also need to finish my multimedia about ultimate fighting and clean a few things up. Enjoy and thanks to everyone who helped.

Final edit
Just finished a final edit on a project I worked on during my time in Denmark. Cutlines are under photos.
On March 1, 2007, the Danish government raided the Ungdomshuset or "Youth House" in Copenhagen, Denmark. The house supported radical left-wing activists who followed a philosophy of anarchism since 1982. When police entered the building early on a Thursday morning, youth from around the country descended on Copenhagen to protest. A group of teenage friends squatting around Århus traveled over 300km to take part in demonstrations which quickly turned violent.

CUT: Cille (last name witheld) waits on Nørrebrogade to meet up with more friends. Many of the youth spend their days hanging out on the streets and bouncing between abandoned buildings and apartments to sleep during the night.

CUT: Donkey takes a break from playing video games at a friend's single room apartment in Århus where he squats with anywhere between 8-10 other youths. Most of the youths have had trouble with the Danish police and have abandoned their formal names for nicknames only known within their close friends and supportive underground community.

CUT: Daniel, who goes by the nickname Pinochio, takes a hit from a joint held by his friend Sundance. At the age of sixteen, Daniel was kicked out of his home and sent to boarding school for a few years. Now 19, he has been living in a one room apartment he shares with 8-10 teens.

CUT: Sandra, 16, playfully blows smoke past Rasmus, 15, and into Daniel's, 19, face while hanging out in downtown Århus, Denmark. Some of the youth attend school, but most have dropped out and do not have formal jobs. One philosophy they follow is to share everything with one another, helping each other survive with support from the Danish Social Welfare system, in which they receive a stipend every month for living expenses.

CUT: Many of the youth in Århus have formed a close community with typical places to meet depending on the day of the week. Most of the time, the group of friends hang out under a bridge that spans the city canal. The bridge, which is located near a strip of bars and restaurants, shelters them from the rain and from the rest of society.

CUT: A few weapons, like a hatchet, are strewn about Daniel's one room apartment for protection. The weapons are used to joke around with each other more than to hurt anyone, but are a matter of protection from police and opposing factions like the Danish Neo-Nazis, who have caused several fights with left-wing activists throughout Denmark, Daniel said.

CUT: Café goers watch as hundreds of hooded demonstrators push their way up Nørrebrogade street in Copenhagen, Denmark minutes before riots broke out across the city in opposition to the Danish government's takeover of Ungdomshuset or "Youth House." Police arrested the 35 residents of the house when they stormed it early in the morning.

CUT: A protestor (declined to give name) drinks a beer infront of a pet shop on Nørrebrogade in Copenhagen, Denmark, that closed early due to the country's largest riots since 1993. Left-wing activists from around the country took to the streets beginning Thursday March 1, 2007. Demonstrations and rioting continued for the following four days resulting in almost 700 arrests.

Image
For this picture story class I'm taking, we had to do a quick essay about something of our choice. I toyed around with a few different ideas but ended up focusing on teenagers and the image they have through subtle materials and dress. To do this, I went to Rockbridge High School a few times right before the bell rang until kids left on buses. There was a window of about 15 minutes where the students just hang out in the halls, all divided into different groups of friends who share similar appearance. Not all divided, but everyone has been to high school and knows that there is often a division among teens because of personalities and interests.

Football
Tonight I got to photograph the Missouri vs. Nebraska football game while freelancing for the Columbia Tribune. There were two other shooters to focus on action, Gerik and Nick, and I was to focus on feature and crowd reaction. It was a pretty fun time and long night since the game started with an 8:15 PM kickoff. Toning may be off. Really tired, but jsut wanted to throw some stuff up. Check out the TRIBUNE'S SLIDESHOW. Oh, and the last photo is just personal stuff while I was waiting for something to happen.

A look back
Today I was looking through some pics from the past 6 months or so and thinking about entering CPOY. Deadline is Friday. Not sure if I really want to enter or if I have anything worthy of entering. Just two images I found and thought I'd put them up on the blog before they go back under to gather digital dust. The vignette is for Ben Fredman, chump, I caved...but ONLY for personal stuff like this.
