This week I'm volunteering at the Missouri Photo Workshop in Chillicothe, Missouri. I'm working with another person on the workshop newspaper/newsletter, called Rangefinder. Here are a few pics I took today for a story about the building where we have set up shop. Shot at 1600 ISO a Nikon D3 I borrowed from a Nikon rep.
Just read this >> Washington Post article. << It's insane. So nothing happened, but think about the smallest thing going wrong and what the outcome would be. Unfortunately mistakes happen, and sometimes in more than just one way. What if the plane were to crash? A bolt come loose? Just the thought that this took place makes me feel a little less confident, if that's possible, in the country's administration. Had something worse happened, that would have changed the entire world as we know it.
Ok, I am not renewing my domain name, jtully.com and will now be focusing attention on building up www.johntullyphoto.com. This will be my new site and will be working to finish it before mid-October. A lot on my plate with school right now.
Shot a story today for Canoe and Kayak Magazine. I remember back when I first started reading magazines like that one, snowboarder, skateboard, surfer, biker...all those outdoor sporting magazines and thinking how cool it would be to work for them. I had a great time but won't be able to post any images until they are published.
I followed around a leader of a band before his performance here in Columbia. Just messing around. It's black and white because the colored lights caused over saturation of the colors and I like it better. Did the layout for pitcure story class.
Started a quick "one-day" story for my picture story class. I decided to check out this old motel in Columbia, a place the owner says has never had a journalism student come by. So, if this is true, it's a rare find I guess. Anyways, I approached the place and am meeting people that are permanent residents, photographing each in their home. We'll see how it turns out. Today I met the owner and hung out with a resident named Carl. Going back tonight and tomorrow. I'll replace this post with the final.
Long story short, I switched my domain name. My new website address will be landbeforetime.com...not really. It's www.johntullyphoto.com. Nothing is up there yet and this is now my next big project, along with class work, Boone Life, shooting stories and preping for internships/jobs for the summer. I'll send an update when the site is finished. Hopefully before January...ha!
